I feel like a rubber band that's just been snapped. It was hell getting to and through what brought me to this point, but right now I'm very calm and not stressed at all.

Given what's going on in the office and in Ohio, this confuses the hell out of me.

(Office stuff has escalated to a new level of "You did the fuck *what*?" Ohio has Marcon, which is infinitely better. You guys all have fun for me, I'd be there if I could.)

Last night was cool. Bank robbers should not be armed with Gatling pistols, and should not make their getaways in steam wagons that are equipped with flamethrowers. This absolutely *requires* investigating. (I don't know why Curious is considered a flaw rather than a given. I mean, PCs. PCs are the sort that you need a restraining order against to keep them from poking around in something.)

Also, I melted a horse. Accidentally. Ish. Without witnesses, thank god.

The smell of ferret has been almost entirely evicted from the apartment. They are incredibly cute, and they do cause mild hiccups in the brain--I still cannot quite believe they *bend* like that--and it was funny watching the cats react{1}, but I would not keep one. Still.

X-3 tonight. Yay.
{1} Hm. Small animal. Like a squirrel. Prey? Maybe. Moves funny. Might be prey--ohgodohgodohgod it's coming towards me it's gonna *touch* me! *skitters backwards down hallway*

Well, damn.

Just got around to checking my credit card statement, and am displeased.

I met Larry Elmore at Marcon. He was amazingly cool.

I ordered one of his prints during the whatever-that-holiday-was sale after Marcon--a poster-size (19" x 27") limited-edition lithograph of "Close Combat", which you can see here (I fell kind of hard for the combination of warm and cool colours).

And there was some weirdness with the order--apparently I'd mistyped the expiry year of my credit card. There were two calls made to sort it out. Apparently there was also an error on his office's end, because I got two copies of the litho. (At least I am assuming that is the case. I got two long thin triangular-cross-section FedEx packages with identical invoices[1] on two different days, and one of them definitely contains "Close Combat". I haven't opened the second for reasons of convenience which should soon become obvious.)

The thing is, I only paid for one. I just checked my statements. I'd assumed that an error had duplicated my order and resulted in two charges, two shipments. That would've been inconvenient, but okay.

One charge, two shipments, means I have taken possession of some fraction of the estimable Mr. Elmore's property and livelihood without (a) his informed permission or (b) having paid for it. That is not okay.

So, having nailed down the business number, I will call tomorrow during the day. Not sure if they're open then or not, but hopefully I can at least leave a message and ask them to call back on Monday.
[1] The fact that having an invoice with Larry Elmore's signature on it makes me grin is probably a handy indication of how much of a fan-girl I'm being.

Out of here in less than 24 hours. For a wonder, Marcon is about the furthest thing from my mind. (I did the pre-reg. Were they supposed to send me anything that confirmed that? I think not.)

Mad cut. My manners. )

For tomorrow (now today): find and collect all paperwork. Pack. Buy last-minute supplies. Friday's strip. /Quite/ pages. Uploads. US cash.

I must love you guys, I'm skipping the TCAF for you. :)

Rent paid. LARP clothing mostly finalized. Out to acquire currency and travel insurance, and celebrate the fact that it only took two and a half weeks of repetitive inquiries to get HR to tell me "We dun do that."[1] Tonight, Friday's strip, cat care details, light crafts/sewing, and... Heh. Migod. I think I might actually be ready to leave by tomorrow night.
[1] Pardon me, I read /The Whimper of Whipped Dogs/ lately, and it's stuck in my head a little...
