You know, I left out Black Shuck for this, on the theory that he is not *technically* an original character, but merely a figure from folklore that I was geeking madly and writing stories about at age... hrm... seven. So this had better be good.
01) Who would make a better college professor, Zed or Epworth?
Epworth, in a heartbeat. He is rich with the wisdom of dragons and has great patience in the face of adversity, even if he is small and rotting.
02) Do you think Melianthe Blackmoor, Mistress of the Mystic Arts--oh, hell, just call her Mel--is hot? How hot?
Well, yeah. But I think it's two parts looks to three parts charm. This *is* the woman who successfully bluffed a dragon, after all.
03) Jenny Spikestones sends Bloody Boots on a mission. What is it, and does it succeed?
...oh dear god, I just need to contemplate this for a minute.
It succeeds. It involves conveying the message that Jenny Spikestones is *still here* and is *not happy*.
04) What is or would be Staples Peterson's favorite book?
The Book of Saint Michael.
05) Would it make more sense for Mel to swear fealty to Zed, or the other way around?
The former, I think. Zed has a kind of larger commitment that she can't really take a break from.
06) For some reason, Jack Hollow is looking for a roommate. Should he share a studio apartment with Staples or with Tulsa Andrakis?
Tulsa. Jack's a good guy, but I think his whole flames-burning-inside-my-hollowed-head would freak Staples out a little.
07) Mel, Astrid Iysekch, and Jenny Spikestones have dinner together. Where do they go, and what do they discuss?
A private booth in a dimly lit sushi restaurant, where Mel would pay for everything and pick both their brains like crazy.
08) Sam Murdock challenges Tulsa Andrakis to a duel. What happens?
Sam comes to his senses and apologizes before anyone gets hurt. Tulsa thinks this is perfectly fine and drags Sam along to go get a beer. Many beers.
09) If Mallory Manson stole Bloody Boots' most precious possession, how would he get it back?
By following her unto land's end and beyond, eyes glaring and feet seeping bare bloody prints into the earth, until he tore it from her cold and twitching fingers (or, more likely, she came to her senses and gave it back).
10) Suggest a title for a story in which Astrid Iysekch and Jenny Spikestones both attain what they most desire.
"Mene, Mene, Tekel, Upharsin".
11) What kind of plot device would you use if you wanted Velvet van Sloane and Mallory Manson to work together?
The standard odd couple schtick. "I really do think you're mad, but this horrible not-rightly-dead thing needs putting down and I can't do it alone."
12) If Astrid Iysekch visited you for the weekend, how would you get along?
Cautiously, but well enough.
13) If you could command Sam Murdock to perform any one task or service for you, what would it be?

Probably Velvet. Jack tends to be a little quiet sometimes, and neither Mel nor Velvet really go that route.

Mallory. Zed'd be a little distracted, and Janney doesn't eat. Food.

To a destination? Staples. To an conclusion? Epworth. Which is why she didn't suspect that the rotting zombie dragon was secretly a spy in question 24.
23) If you had to walk home through a bad neighborhood late at night, would you feel safer in the company of Astrid or Bloody Boots?
Astrid. She's bad luck waiting to happen to bad people. Boots is just bad luck happening.

Epworth volunteers to help them, but it is later discovered that he is actually a spy for Velvet. Meanwhile, Velvet has kidnapped Jenny Spikestones in an attempt to force her surrender. Following the wise advice of Jack Hollow, they seek out Samaritan, who gives them what they need to complete their quest. What title would you give this fic?
