Well, I have just seen the first episode of the second season of Masters of Horror.
For being based on Bierce's "The Damned Thing", it appears to be a not-bad adaptation of Joe R. Lansdale's "Down by the Sea near the Great Big Rock".
I mean, there *is* a Damned Thing involved. The focus of the story is just on something which is not at all an element of the Damned Thing's nature. At all. Really.
Had some startling and effective moments, but not as atmospheric and subtly reality-disturbing as I was hoping when I saw the title.
