Cinematic education
May. 24th, 2008 10:15 pmSo. I've been watching The Fly (the remake, with Jeff Goldblum), and I was chatting with
clinkerfiasco, and she mentioned being surprised I hadn't seen it. And, you know, it's okay. A couple of decent scenes, although dammit, human arms do not break that way.
And a couple of weeks ago, I saw Full Metal Jacket. Which is a good movie, except for the bits towards the end of Gomer Pyle's story arc, at which point it becomes more of a terrifying movie which had me pressing back into the sofa so hard I was starting to inch up it. Amazingly well-done. Honestly don't think it's the kind of thing I'd ever have sat down to watch without John's recommendation, though.
So. I was wondering: if you could recommend one movie that as far as you know I haven't watched, what would it be?
