green_dreamsOne disadvantage of slacking on my news coverage, I find, is that I keep being surprised by how quietly, profoundly upsetting something might be.

I do not want to look at pictures of people and have my mind spin its wheels for a couple of seconds while I try to process, and hear myself thinking but that's blood, that's blood on his face? neck? mouth?, and those are latex gloves, and that looks like scissors, and what is he doing to that man's face? pleasse he's just cutting something off that's not a part of him. are those marks from a cattle prod? i thought they'd be blacker, but what else do you use to make that raw round mark with the puffs and cracks in the skin around it? that's blood from his face on the wall. what's wrong with his eye?
I understand that my not wanting really makes no difference to the existence of said photos. I am really not sure what, if anything, it is actually possible to *do*.
