...and by "more than that", I am speaking in terms of physical objects, not technical virtuosity.

Davy Jones, from Pirates 2? No latex. All CGI. I am stunned.

Fun movie. I am so very glad that nobody spoiled the ending for me. My geeky little heart went all aflitter.

It *was* a fun movie.

(I recall the penultimate moments of the movie. My geeky little heart was all aflutter, and the back of my geeky little brain was yelling something along the lines of "Jesus Christ, give that man a Legend Chip!" :) )

Wow! If they only did as good a job on the Kraken as they did on Davy Jones, I might've never called it Pirates of the Caribbean 2: Jack Sparrow vs. The Pixelated Octopus.

It was probably harder to find an actor that they could tack the Kraken onto.

(...hell, I can't even come up with a joke about who they might have used.)

They should have tacked the Kraken onto some better effects guys. When 1981's Clash of the Titans' stop-motion Kraken is visually superior to your 2006 state-of-the-art CGI Kraken, you've done something wrong, something horribly wrong.

I'm sticking with the first Pirates film myself.
