Hi, Murphy.
Apr. 6th, 2006 10:41 amSo, apparently "so-and-so gets in early, he can help you tomorrow morning" means "so-and-so gets in early, and will be hanging around chatting two doors down from your cubicle so that he completely misses the instructions you left on your door{1}, and will only have time to drop off a folder (takes two tries) before his meeting, which ends at some unspecified time before you get back from your hour of photocopying, so he will ask you if he can do anything to help when you get back with the completed three-inch stack of paper that was really the only thing he could have usefully done".
Thou shalt not put thy faith in second-hand offers of help from co-workers.
I can still make the finance deadline for today. I am torn between cutting out early if I can (which I probably can't) and getting my head on straight before art class, or working late to get things done and making a token appearance tomorrow morning to have the timesheet signed and then disappearing.

{1} The cubicles have sliding doors. It's not enough. Sound carries.
