If you think I'm going out in this miserable weather just so I can tromp around running errands and picking up something for an in-law and getting ingredients for an office potluck/birthday party when I wish the entire concept of office potlucks and personalized social parties would all just go away and die--

--yes, okay, you're right. But I'm not happy about it.

Dear Sunday (redux)

I spent four hours running around (much of it on the bus, which would have been a chance to flump if I hadn't had to juggle packages), and six hours cooking/cleaning in the kitchen. Haven't even had a chance to wrap the present yet.

(My feet. Ow.)

As pre-Christmas shopping goes, it was really pretty mellow--something to do with everyone staying home due to three feet of snow and massive drifting[1] and chilling wind. It was just really tiring. Apparently we only got 31 centimetres of snow, but between the wind piling up drifts and the plows it got a little deeper in places.

Got half the things I wanted to do done today, at least.

[1] That was actually pretty neat. I was waiting at a street intersection and looked back over my shoulder at one point, and while I could see the buildings, the air above the street was a solid swirling wall of thick grey-white.
