*dusts off*
Jun. 8th, 2008 10:09 amIt really is not the heat, it's the humidity. It's meant to rain tonight (and tomorrow, and the day after), but right now it's miserable. The cats are lying around, attempting to attain maximum kitty-to-air exposure.
I've been thirty for just over a week. It's not so bad. I've been married for a year and a fortnight, and it's still good.
Erm. Yeah. Mostly checking in, because I realized how little I'd been around lately. It's been a very braindead week at work; the new admin, the one replacing me, has been in for two of the last seven workdays. She's a huge help when she's there, and she managed to help amazingly with my inbox--the review manager left and eight inches of Very Old Stuff landed in there--but I'm worried her absences are going to bite her in the ass. It's all understandable--stomach flu in her family, and a dislocated shoulder--but she's kind of not around for all the time she was asked to be there for.
Caught the latest Doctor Who last night. Oh, it was good. Professor River Song is amazing; I kept thinking of Halo Jones, towards the end. I loaned the first book of the Ballad out and haven't gotten it back; I think I'm going to need to get a replacement. And not a DC reprint.[1]
I need to go out to the library today and return books. I figure I'm going to wait until afternoon and see if it's raining, as the UV index is currently at 9 (loosely translateable as "stay inside, you idiot--that's a deathstar") and I'll feel like less of an idiot if I carry an umbrella while it's raining.

[1] I might waver on this if it weren't possible to still get the Titan Books collections. As is, it is, and I don't have to.
