Touching base, unexpected
Jun. 12th, 2008 12:47 pmStopped by the local magazine store to pick up my holds yesterday. The guy behind the counter recognized me well enough to note that I hadn't been in in a while. It felt really odd to be recognized. It makes sense, since I think I was going there about three times a month for a good five years, but I never expected it, somehow. We chatted for a bit; turns out he lives in Stittsville.
He started a sentance with the standard "Well, if you want to get them elsewhere..." and I reassured him that there was no chance in hell. I don't think there's anyplace that has the selection of Mags'n'Fags, certainly not for stuff I'm interested in. And it's close to where I work; I just need to walk over a bit more often.
The current Heavy Metal is bagged, with opaque squares over the better part of the magazine. Haven't opened it yet. Am vaguely curious about what could possibly be on the cover.
