I *know* it always looks worse than it is. She breaks out and then heals, and scabs up as she does so--but all the dead skin get caught in her fur instead of simply falling off, and it looks like she has one huge and corrugated mass of dried and scabby blood under her chin that's perhaps half the size of my thumbnail.
She is a delicate[1] smallcat. A sore half the size of my thumbnail is cause for concern. The illusion of same is simply cause for fretting.
Will give her another go-round with the medicated shampoo tomorrow.
