Nearly done the video for work. (Editing image files with *MS Paint*, I still can't believe it.) Not sure what I'm going to useto capture it into a YouTube-suitable format--I had to put it in PowerPoint, since that actually has more useful tools than Windows Movie Maker. Still, I'm sure I can find something.

On the plus side, I was getting calls Monday and yesterday after I'd left work saying "It's wonderful, thank you so much!" and while I really do think they're overstating a but it does feel good to hear. So I will take what I can get and try to ignore the nagging feeling that I'm a fraud and as soon as they find out that all I did was select the right slide transition from the menu they'll rise up and cast me out.

Of course, I was being told yesterday about a graphic designer who downloaded OpenOffice 3.1 to get one font file. More terrifying is the option that I'm *not* incompetent.

In other news... knife came in, vials came in, letters and packages and the like are going out, and I am rediscovering just how much a decent night's sleep can mean. The first time I tried to read Pump Six and Other Stories I couldn't make heads or tales of it; now I'm actually following.

Your best bet for YouTube is to make sure the file is in .flv format before uploading, to avoid lossy conversion/compression during the upload.

Extremely impressive doing anything with MS Paint. I listened to Pump Six and it was was was a delightfully interesting take on the post-apocalyptic genre. Do tell me how the other stories turn out?

A lot of them are very similar in their environmental/industrial infrastructure dystopianism. I highly recommend getting the collection out of the library, where it's going to be available again when I return it sometime tomorrow.
