Oh god.

We're home.

Cats didn't wreck anything. Unless they eat my face while I sleep, I've escaped retaliation.

Hard to adequately convey the bliss of my own shower, my own bed, my own apartment... not to mention different clothes.

Tomorrow, I have several dozen e-mails to wade through. My sister is having an art show at her store (the store is hers, the art is not--I think. If it is, she didn't tell me). I will need to do a grocery run, collect my keys, unpack, see about getting my scanner fixed[1]...

Right now, I think I'm going to crash like a porcelain omelette dropped out an eighteenth-floor window.

[1] The scanner decided four hours before we left was a good time to creatively interpret "anything lying on the last two-thirds of the scanner bed" as "lines! lots of little lines! my rendition of a bar code gone mad!" Means it only takes four scans to post one /R.S.I./ strip. I am praying this will be less expensive to fix than the cat.

I have to commend you on your ability to pack. I usually go away for 3 days with more than both of you combined.

I travel light, and we madly abused my sister's laundry facilities.

i remember packing half my usually clothing when i went to the biological station last summer, but there was a (one) washing machine... okyay, so it literally ook 4 hours to wash and 45 minutes to dry, ten 45 more minutes to dry, and then 5 minutes to give up on dry clothes.
I am unapologetic about bringing more than everyone else, but then again, i was the only person with a pillow for two weeks.
