I have incredibly cool friends. They call me up and say things like "I'm going to be two blocks from your place in about three minutes. I would like to buy you a stiff drink. We can bitch about our respective days." And then there is a tangent into proper tailoring on very short notice, and I am reminding myself that really, the very non-shiny purple dupioni silk is *not* something I should be getting without plans for it. Even if it is that cheap. Even if I need another suit.

(Thank you, [livejournal.com profile] commodorified. So much.)

There is actually a Savile Row-trained tailor in Ottawa. He doesn't cut anymore. He's ninety-three, and his eyesight is not what it was. But he still works, and hey, you know--Savile Row. Real bespoke. All that stuff.

One beer was putting me at the my-head-is-comfortably-floating stage. It's tapering off now. I need to clean up a couple of things and do a panel, and then crash. Thre may be a hot bath in there somewhere, too.

I just realized that I haven't read any of Warren Ellis's e-mails since Monday. Actually since Thursday, but the first one he sent out since Thursday was on Monday. (Alright, I nearly *typed* a lisp. It's obviously been a very weird day.) Fell 5 is out. I should--

--I have just called the Comic Book Shoppe and had a copy set aside. I will pick it up tomorrow. Go me.

Temp should, by grace and strings, be in on Tuesday. He seems sensible. I don't want to talk about the rest of the day.

Big Jeezus Truck is playing Barrymore's on the 27th. Also, [livejournal.com profile] qwantz is having a book release party in Toronto on the 27th. He does dinosaur comics, which is probably at least as cool as Big Jeezus Truck, given that the art never changes. And it is free. But it is in Toronto. I will probably not make it to either, but they are nice ideas.

I am late with the census.

Paid off a chunk of credit card today. Expecting glasses in soon.

Everything else... quiet.
