Busy weekend, near-total geeking.
Aug. 19th, 2007 10:20 pmYesterday (despite intermittent back pain), ran a Dekalyptos session (fun, hard, but rewarding). Then went and played in a LARP (less fun, honestly, had its moments). Hung out with people. Bought wedding gift, fell over.
Today, ambled around. Played zombie cowboys, ran into some *fascinating* individuals[1], had mad fun. Rewatched the Doctor Who 2005 Christmas Special. Read a little. Noted back twinges had cleared up, yay.
I have a rat (in a cage, as a guest) in the bathroom right now. And I am tired.

Date: 2007-08-20 04:29 am (UTC)Uhm. Here (http://theweaselking.livejournal.com/2514861.html).
I mean, I am hoping that the vet will look at it and say something like "Oh, thank goodness! Despite surgery having become a nigh-useless option because of the huge blood loss that removing a tumour of that volume would entail, and the general danger of surgery, not to mention the difficulty of getting it all out, Kitten the rat will survive! You see, that's the rare Malaysian Left-Leg Tumour Pattern! Once it swells to half the size of the rat's body, it shrinks right back down in a fortnight--you should have a healthy rat by Friday!" and then I will be able to look at finding the rat a responsible long-term owner.

Ack.
....I really, really wish sometimes that I had this magic karmic raygun. Whenever I saw an animal or child or otherwise thinking living thing dependent on others that has been harmed by its owner's/parent's/whatever's neglect/abuse, I would point the magic raygun at it and *ZAP*: all effects of the abuse/neglect would be magically transferred to the person/s responsible, leaving the animal/child/whatever happy and healthy and the abuser/neglecter suffering.
Failing that, I will offer my condolences and say that you're doing a really great thing by caring for this poor little fellow, no matter how short a time he has left.

(Honestly, I really think the tumour is closer to half the size of the rat, not three-quarters. And from talking to the vet, after I got the files released, I don't think medical help would have made any difference.)
