Saw a weather report last night which had "child rise" marked as 5:30, and I must confess I was feeling faintly smug about not having to worry about that.

Angel woke me up maybe half an hour ago, howling for attention on my pillow and crackling a plastic bag in my ear.

Probably all for the best, really. I was having a dream about trying to wrap a BPAL imp in fun fur.

Child Rise?

Is this some sort of arcane Canadian thing? I'm imagining....

"Well in canada the wind blows so hard that kids just fly away. So a child rise is where you have to bind them to something solid so they don't float off. Ah, the circle of life in the great white north."

Nah. Child rise is something they only include in the weather forecast on December 24, so you know what time you can expect to be woken up by kids the next day.

(There was also an intermittent "upper air disturbance", accompanied by a graphic of a bunch of reindeer and a big red sled going across the screen.)
