So. I've been introduced to Oz. I like Oz. Very very much, in fact. I suspect it's going to be very much like Deadwood, with a set environment and a lot of character development/interaction. This pleases me.

(Also? Dino Ortolani reminds me incredibly of Jackie Flannery. Poor bastard.)

Plus now you can watch Law & Order reruns and play Spot the Guy From OZ. Though I think by the last season or so the show was starting to come off the rails...

You should check out The Wire, too. Best cop show evarrrrrr - only one I've ever seen that seems like it might actually involve an inkling of what things are actually like, probably because it draws on the experiences of its creator and some of the actors, many of whom were cops or dealers in previous careers. Of course, the idea that real life anywhere might be anything like The Wire is pretty damn depressing, but it was a pretty freaking amazing show nonetheless.
