Made it to Chicago. And out of there, actually. John's sister & brother-in-law, very cool.

Marcon needs to occur more than once a year. I liked playing Jamie, and I think I'm going to be able to crib some useful stuff on character portrayal from other people. Very cool to see everyone again, and I think the match-up of real faces and names to LJ identities was a lot higher this year. Miles is a braver soul than I, and throws great parties.

I don't see what's so scary about Everclear. ;)

The pirates remembered us, as I discovered upon wandering up to the booth and hearing "Oh, the Canadians!" Picked up the comic, got it autographed.

Got all three pieces I bid on in the art auction, including [livejournal.com profile] benarian's. He has good news.

Oh, yeah:

I met Larry Elmore. And got his autograph. And his picture. And actually, I think, managed to talk to him for a few minutes without making a shrieking fangirl of myself.

That completely rocked.

It was good to get to role-play with you; from what I saw, you did a great job, as I'm sure everybody expected. You also helped me out in my sleep-deprived state by giving me an excellent idea about how to play a certain feature of my character.

Sweet. Glad I helped. {:) There was a lot of great role-playing there--the body language especially was really impressive. Must remember the virtues of invading people's personal space when wanting to creep them out. (Hope your character will be feeling better next year--feed on a perkyraver or something.)

Wish I'd gotten a picture of Lee's costume, though. (Not the Beast; the god-awful olive-green suit with the purple satin band and the peacock feather on the hat and the lipstick and... hee. Made me want to go play noir or Adventure or 1920s Call of Cthulhu or something.)

I'm going to have to remember to read the rules regarding such things carefully before I begin play, but I think you helped me stick pretty close to what it says. I could hope that he doesn't have it by next year, but then I sit back and ask myself, "Am I really going to spend that much XP just to get rid of that?"
The situation I was directly involved in was when I first met the Twins ... one of them put his hand on my knee. Now, as a player, I have no problem with non-heterosexuality ... my character, however, is military (Pararescue, which is half of the USAF special forces) so, um, yeah; I think I snarled at him.

Yeah, that outfit was ... pimptastic?

You met Larry Elmore.

Oh. My. GOD.

Insert mad screaming jealousy from over here. ;)

Finally, a proper reaction! :) [livejournal.com profile] benarian also understood the coolness that this is. However, I heard a lot of "Who?" and did a lot of explaining that he's the cover art guy. No, the cove art guy.

He's really nice. I mean, patient, polite, friendly... just generally cool.

By the way, until midnight on Monday, his limited-edition poster-size lithographs are half-price, which means that print and shipping costs less than the print normally would. I believe it's www.larryelmore.com, but Google can correct me if I'm wrong.

You were such a good childe. My pride and joy. There were a couple of times where I found my character thinking on how he could get her to leave Delaware and help out in Columbus more often. . . ;)

*grin* You were trying to get me into Columbus, Punishment was singing the praises of Cincinnati, and all Jamie wanted was peace and security in Delaware...

...oh, and your position, but y'know, that can wait a little. ;)

Of course. I remember your "when have you last been in torpor?" question that seemed oh so innocent. . .

Considering also that my character replaced his sire when torpor called, does speak quite a bit about future possibilities.

That one actually was innocent, which doesn't mean that any information garnered won't be carefully assessed. I mean, Jamie likes Ishiel, and is unlikely to contest hiim lightly. She's just sure she'd do a better job. (Damn Gnostic hippies...)

Jealousy strikes!

More cons. It is the way.

Heh. According to the photo, I was looking sort of like I'd just swallowed a live duck. But he was still very nice.
